AMERICAN FARM SCENE, WINTER (a poem) by Patricia Crandall

Icicles
hang from rooftops
of an old farmhouse
and a leaning barn.
Skaters
spin around the ice pond.
A pair of horses
clip-clop over a wooden bridge
pulling a sleigh
homing two passengers.
Snow clouds emerge
depositing
spectacular snow-blanketed scenery.
