THE NIGHT THE PIXIES DANCED

 

Pixies

dance beneath

golden ring of moon.

Meteoroids

sail through space

gleaming

in autumn starlight.

Misty shrouds

spirit across Ghost Lake.

Witches

frost tips of trees

with broom handles

in the midst of riotous

fog fantasy.

BUCKETS OF BLUEBERRIES - a poem

 

 

Flannel-jacketed campers

huddle against rough winds

buffeting the lake's edge

filling tin pails

with last of the blueberries

There is no need to proclaim her scintillating presence.   The air about her is delightfully pure.   She dresses fashionably in shades of blue.   Her movements are graceful as she flows down wind past stately pines and leaning birch trees,   lapping boats anchor to weathered docks.

NATURE'S WAY (a poem)

NATURE’S WAY

Waterfalls cascading
over sharp, jutting rocks.
Angry rivers rising
in a storm.
Oceans
swelling…swirling
in perpetual motion.
Petals
unfolding in a summer breeze.
Bees
droning by angry swarms.
Trees
bearing pale – pink blossoms
and ripening fruit.
Creatures
burrowing tawny noses into earth.

Granddaughter won third place in contest and I received two honorable mentions.

My granddaughter, Nicole St. Onge, tied for 3rd place with her story: No Guts, No Gory. I'm so proud of her. My two honorable mentions are: HM#19 & 21.
